    What does overbooking mean?

Overbooking is a regular practice applied by airlines which results in having more passengers with valid tickets than there are seats on the aircraft. Overbooking is not common just for low-cost airlines and there is no mechanism right now to restrict air operators from overbooking flights. However, airlines must issue a Denied Boarding Form to facilitate your right to receiving your legal compensation.
